If you spilled anything oil based like a vinaigrette. I have seen two approaches mentioned on line to remove stains from cultured marble. Pour a small amount of the cleaning solution on a clean soft cloth and gently scrub the stained area. To clean stained marble mix baking soda and water until it s a thick paste.

To successfully remove the stain you need to draw out the oil from the marble. The abrasive method involves either lightly sanding the surface with progressively finer wet sandpaper or rubbing it with automotive rubbing compound paste. This will remove dirt but won t heal any etching or stains. Dry the surface around the water stain then rub in a circular pattern over the stain until the stain buffs out of the marble. Mild soap and hot water will do just fine. You don t need specialty cleaners for marble.

Wipe sudsy water on the counter with a soft cloth or sponge. You need to take care not to scratch it or expose it to acid such as vinegar or strong alkaline agents like ammonia and detergents. Most marble stains can be removed by using a homemade solution called a poultice. You can use a soft liquid cleanser household detergent mineral spirits or ammonia to remove oil based stains from your marble surfaces.
