A pitch of 10 degrees or less is typically regarded as a flat roof. A flat roof is more likely to allow rain to pool and this can cause damage especially if the roof is made of a porous substance like wood. The minimum requirement is 2 12. The minimum pitch for a roof is 1 4 12 which translates to 1 4 inch rise to 12 inches of run.
